CG Core: A revised pan-CGIAR metadata schema to enhance inter-operability and discovery

The “CG Core” metadata schema was released in October 2018 and is intended to be the minimum set of elements applicable for data annotation and curation across CGIAR. Application of the CG Core to CGIAR publication and data repositories and relevant databases will enable consistent annotation of final research products, facilitate cross-repository searching and enhance discovery of CGIAR information products through Open Access.

This schema is closely aligned with Dublin Core, a generic and widely-adopted metadata schema that has been in use since the mid-1990s; and to the Data Documentation Initiative (DDI) by the DDI Alliance that has been implemented by many CG Centres through Dataverse.
