The CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture’s digital forum on COVID-19 and food security brings emergent research and on-the-ground realities together in conversation in order to map out the direct impacts of the crisis across food value chains and glean data-driven recommendations and solutions.

This fifth episode will discuss bridging gaps and building resiliency with digital agriculture platforms.

Stephanie Dizon|Head of Implementation, FarmForce

Stephanie Dizon | FarmForce

Stephanie Dizon is the Head of Implementation for Farmforce AS, a digital solutions provider for digitizing the agricultural first mile. She has previously managed implementations for Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Sierra Leone) and Asia-Pacific (Myanmar, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea). She also leverages extensive experience in supply chain management, having worked with herbs and spices, import/export of fresh produce and retail. She has an in-depth understanding of operational requirements and challenges in the agricultural and FMCG industry.

 

Shahid Akbar| Bangladesh Institute of ICT Development

Shahid is the Founder and CEO of the Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) fostering ICT integration in development initiatives and mainstreaming ICT4D. He leads various e-Agriculture projects under the umbrella of e-Krishok, on nutrition and entrepreneurship development programs for micro & small and micro business with a focus on women and youth. BIID initiatives envision and align to achieve SDGs and national development goals.

 

 

Zeituna Mustafa| Market Engagement Manager, GSMA

Zeituna Mustafa| GSMA

Zeituna Mustafa is the market engagement Manager for GSMA AgriTech programme Within GSMA, she advises mobile operators on development and implementation of mobile money strategy, robust business plans and operational plans to digitize agricultural value chains. Her expertise is digital financial services with experience in digital finance strategic and operational aspects for mobile money providers and financial institutions. Prior to GSMA, Zeituna worked with Musoni Microfinance as the Digital Financial Services Manager focusing on digital credit for smallholder farmers and digital transformation strategy.

 

 

Aashna Singh|Co-Founder and COO, MoooFarm 

Aashna Singh|MoooFarm

Aashna is the Co-Founder & COO of MoooFarm, a dairy technology start-up building connected commerce for 100 million dairy farmers in India. Aashna is a strong promoter of inclusive growth and is passionate to create sustainable rural livelihood for farmers. She is a recipient of multiple awards including ‘Most Influential Agriculture Industry Professional’ by Agriculture Innovation Congress & Awards, World Bank’s Agri Insure-Tech Challenge, Animal Husbandry Start-up Grand Challenge, scholarship for SoCap-USA among others. She pursued her post-graduation with Double Distinction from the London School of Economics and University of Sydney Business School after completing her graduation (with distinction) from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
