Title: Digital tools for farmers advisory and climate action
Date: 18 June 2020
Time: 9:00 AM EDT (UTC – 4:00)

The rise of digital agriculture could be the most transformative and disruptive change for smallholder farmers since the Green Revolution six decades ago. This is becoming even more relevant due to the current COVID-19 Crisis, where researchers and advisory officers realize the need for digital tools when field access and travels are restricted.

In this webinar, we will present two tools that have been developed within research projects to support the implementation of climate-smart agricultural practices around the world. The first two speakers will introduce the Stepwise app that helps coffee and cocoa farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices step-by-step, and the GeoFarmer app for agricultural development projects that facilitate knowledge-sharing processes and data collection. The final speaker will present lessons learned from a user interface design testing with farmers in Uganda.
