2020 Convention session – Big data to scale: A reality check

This session on big data to scale aired live at the 2020 virtual CGIAR Convention on Big Data in Agriculture.

Approaches to scaling have evolved from a focus on “just more” to a focus on sustainable systems change at scale. This has implications on the way projects are designed, implemented and monitored. In this session, David Guerena and Marshall Burke explore how big data can contribute to scaling the use of innovations and how it helps monitor change at scale.

Speakers

  • David Guerena: CGIAR Platform for Big Data, Research Strategy and Innovation Coordinator
  • Marshall Burke: Stanford University, Associate Professor, Earth System Science
  • Daniel Jiménez: Leader of the Community of Practice on Data-Driven Agronomy, CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture
  • Lennart Woltering: Scaling Advisor, CIMMYT
