Webinar – Meaningful scaling: The what and why of scaling
Webinar organized by the Data-Driven Agronomy Community of Practice of the CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture.
This webinar is the first in the Data-Driven Agronomy Community of Practice’s series: Ingredients for scaling. Lennart Woltering, Scaling Catalyst at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), speaks about why we should move from scaling as “more” to a more meaningful way of scaling that integrates sustainability, systems change and responsible scaling. Afer, Diana Giraldo, researcher at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT and the University of Reading, presents an example of meaningful scaling: Agro-Climatic Committees. She talks about how a visit to a project in Senegal lead to scaling this in 10 counties in Latin America in a sustainable manner.
