Webinar – The Food Ontology & its application for text mining (LexMapr) & food production description (PO2)
Webinar organized by the Ontologies Community of Practice of the CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture.
During this webinar, Damion Dooley, Scientific Programmer and Ontology Developer at the University of British Columbia, guides us in the content, development and latest updates of the Food Ontology (FoodOn) that addresses food product terminology gaps and supports food components traceability from farm to fork and reverse.
The webinar also features tools using FoodOn. Gurinder Gosal, NLP and Semantic Technology Researcher at the University of British Columbia, presents LexMapr, a text mining tool built around FoodOn to map food related pathogens, and will explain how this command line program can be used for other ontologies.
Patrice Buche, Research Engineer in Computer Sciences at INRAE, details the Process and Observation Ontology (PO2), a core ontology used for modeling food transformation processes and their observations.
