New webpage featuring the most used ontologies in the agri-food domain

The Ontologies Community of Practice has developed a webpage providing at a glance the most popular ontologies in the agri-food domain along with the ontologies developed by CGIAR and its partners.

To ease the selection and use of ontologies, the Ontologies Community of Practice of the CGIAR Platform for Big Data in Agriculture has developed a webpage providing at a glance the most popular ontologies in the agri-food domain along with the ontologies developed by CGIAR and its partners.

The page allows users to quickly choose the ontologies they wish to use thanks to a short description and a direct link to the ontology. The schema organizes ontologies along the agri-food pathway from gene to plant, livestock, environment, food, and socio-economy. The layout idea is inspired by a schema presented by Erick Antezana, from Bayer Crop Science during an Ontologies Community of Practice webinar.

On this page, users will also find a list of ontologies repositories as well as a list of generic ontologies and thesauri that complement the domain specific ontologies for data annotation.

We hope the page will be a resource for your data annotation work!

Visit the most used ontologies in agriculture here.
